Exocin Eye Drops

Buy Exocin Eye Drops for patients that have an infection in the eye caused by bacteria. This solution has proved extremely effective against infection of the cornea, as well as conjunctivitis caused by bacteria.

What makes a good candidate?

This medication is specifically tailored towards helping patients suffering from bacterial eye infections. It can also be used to treat an ulcer located in the cornea.

Areas Treated with Ciloxan

This solution targets the eyes.

How does Exocin Eye Drops work?

The main component of this medication is ofloxacin, a quinolone antibiotic which is well-known to treat a wide variety of bacterial infections. It does this by stopping the further growth of the causative microorganisms, specifically the bacterial enzyme called DNA-gyrase, thereby letting the existing bacteria die out after a few days. Although ofloxacin itself has been used intravenously or via injection, in this particular form it is only meant to be used externally, and should not at all be ingested.

Treatment Details

If the patient wears contact lenses, they should be removed before application, and the doctor should also advise whether they can be reapplied after using Exocin Eye Drops. When eye drops are applied, the patient should close that eye for 2 to 3 minutes with the head tipped down without squinting or blinking. A finger should be gently pressed into the corner of the eye to prevent the liquid from draining into the tear duct. If there is more than one drop being applied, a 5-minute gap between drop application is recommended, and if any other eye drops products are prescribed, there should be a 10-minute gap between their application.

How long does Exocin Eye Drops last?

It is left onto the doctor’s discretion as to how long this medication should be taken, but it is generally recommended that the treatment not exceed 10 days. Even if symptoms do improve before the duration is finished, the infection might not have completely cleared, which might lead to the symptoms coming back. The usual dose is one or two drops into the infected eye/s every 2 to 4 hours for the first two days, and then four times a day afterwards.

Safety Information

Any patients who have demonstrated hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients in Ciloxan should not use this product, or anybody who has hypersensitivity to quinolones in general. Exocin should also not be used on children below 1 year old.
