Acular LS

Buy Acular LS for patients that suffer from seasonal allergies. With the generic name of ketorolac tromethamine, this is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug, also known as an NSAID, and is able to relieve itchy eyes, as well as reduce pain, swelling, or stinging.

What makes a good candidate?

This is a great solution for patients who need temporary relief from ocular itching caused by seasonal allergic conjunctivitis. It is also great for those who suffer from postoperative inflammation from certain surgeries.

Areas Treated with Acular LS

This solution targets the eyes.

How does Acular LS work?

Acular LS is a part of the pyrrolo-pyrrole group of NSAIDS, and are specifically indicated for ophthalmic use. It contains active ketorolac tromethamine at 0.4%, preservative benzalkonium chloride at 0.006%, and inactive sodium chloride, edetate disodium, octoxynol 40, hydrochloric acid and/or sodium hydroxide for PH adjustment, and purified water.

It is supplied as a sterile isotonic aqueous solution with an approximate pH of 7.4, with a racemic mixture of R-(+) and S-(-)-keterolac tromethamine. This specific formulation is designed to combat any irritation, swelling, redness, or itchiness that may be experienced due to either seasonal allergies, or as a side effect of eye surgeries. When administered systematically, it has shown anti-pyretic, anti-inflammatory, and analgesic activity and has the ability to inhibit prostaglandin biosynthesis.

Treatment Details

Acular LS is used 2 to 4 times a day depending on the reason for usage. It is up to the doctor to give a recommended dosage. When eye drops are applied, the patient should close that eye for 2 to 3 minutes with the head tipped down without squinting or blinking. A finger should be gently pressed into the corner of the eye to prevent the liquid from draining into the tear duct. 5 minutes between drop application is recommended, and if any other eye drops are prescribed, there should be a 10-minute gap between their application.

How long does Acular LS last?

For cataract surgery, eye drops are used 1 day before the operation, and may continue for up to 2 weeks afterward. Corneal refractive surgery will necessitate four times daily use for up to four days after surgery.
