Takeda Pharmaceutical Company Limited, or known in Japan as Takeda Yaku Kōgyō kabushiki gaisha is a Japanese-American multinational pharmaceutical company. The group has partial American and British roots, and is the largest pharmaceutical company in Asia. It is also one of the 20 largest pharmaceutical companies in the world by revenue, and they employ almost 50,000 employees all over the world. The company focuses on providing products that help with metabolic disorders, oncology, neurology, inflammation, and gastroenterology, with oncology being researched and formulated by their independent subsidiary, Takeda Oncology.  

One of the product sin their vast and varied portfolio is Entyvio, with the generic name of vedolizumab. It is used generally to treat ulcerative colitis and Chron’s disease, and it makes use of a monoclonal antibody to target and attach itself to the inflammation-causing antigen found when patients suffer from the aforementioned ailments. This medication is generally used when previous treatments have already failed, and has shown to be quite effective in both clinical studies and real-life cases, leading it to be one of the more highly-recommended medications of its kind.
