F. Hoffmann-La Roche AG is a Swiss multinational healthcare company which has a worldwide operational presence consisting of 2 divisions, namely pharma and diagnostics. The group also has a holding company named Roche Holding AG, and has bearer shares listed on the Swiss exchange. Headquartered in Basel, Roche is widely known as the largest pharmaceutical company in the world, and is also the leading provider of cancer treatments on the globe. It was found in 1896 by Fritz Hoffman-La Roche, which was then producing various vitamin preparations and derivatives.  

One of the many products that they have developed over the years is Lucentis. Although Roch still maintains commercial rights in the Us, Novartis has the commercial rights exclusively for the rest of the world. The solution is an eye medication that is a monoclonal antibody fragment that is known to slow vision loss caused by wet AMD and other retina problems. It is introduced via injection, and it does its job by blocking the continued growth of abnormal blood vessels that are causing leakages which may affect the vision of patients.
