Dysport should only be applied on patients by qualified medical professionals. Methods differ depending on the area being targeted. Dysport for both cosmetic and therapeutic uses basically act the same, but are targeted in different areas and for different purposes. For therapeutic purposes, Dysport is injected into the area where it needs to release muscle tension, like the area around the jaw to help patients stop clenching their jaw too much, which can lead to teeth grinding as well.

The actual duration of effects is highly dependent upon the lifestyle and physiology of the patient. However, it has been noted that it can last for 3 to 5 months after injection.
